The Alaska Highway, which links Alaska with Canada
and the contiguous United States, is fully paved and
offers services all year long. Another option is to
take the Alaska Marine Highway to a nearby port
such as Whittier, then take the highway or railway

Information Center 3 4th Avenue Theatre 4 Historic City Hall 5 Wendler Building (Club 25 ) The World Championship Sled
Dog Races and the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race start on this corner 6 Historic Anchorage Hotel. Also listed on the National
Register of Historic Places, this hotel was constructed in 1916, with an addition in 1936. 7 Alaska Statehood Monument
8 Alaska Railroad Depot. The depot was built in 1942 and some of the original woodwork is still in the lobby. 9 Historic
