Kenny Lake began in the late 1950s when good fertile soil lured many homesteaders to the area. Several of the original homesteads have been subdivided for residential use. Kenny Lake is now home to several small businesses and provides services to visitors enroute to Chitina, McCarthy and Kennicott. Fox farm tours are also available.
