Location: On MT Hwy 37; 6 miles west of Eureka, 7 miles south of the Canadian border. Population: 150.

Rexford is located deep in the timberlands of northwestern Montana, along the Kootenai River north of Libby. The town was moved two miles from its original location when the 420-foot-high Libby Dam was built creating 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa. This reservoir provides excellent recreation opportunities.

Tobacco Plains is a day use site located adjacent to Lake Koocanusa. It is a popular picnicking spot nestled in the peaceful forest environment, with a boat ramp and fishing access in adjacent Tobacco inlet. Open year-round; managed season May 15 through October 15. From Rexford, travel east on US Highway 37 for approximately 2 miles to the Sophie Lake/Tetrault Lake road. Turn north onto this road and follow for 4.5 miles, turning west at the junction with Swisher Lake road for 1 more mile.

Peck Gulch is a National Forest campground located 16 miles south of Rexford on State Highway 37. A narrow and fairly steep paved access road leads to the site. Mariners Haven is a privately owned campground 1 mile south of Rexford on Highway 37.
