Located on the “warm side of the Canadian Rockies” along the beautiful Columbia River, The Village of Radium Hot Springs is a mountain getaway community with a diversity of accommodations. It offers beautiful alpine scenery, access to Canada's largest natural hot spring mineral pools, great dining and unlimited outdoor activities, including skiing, hiking and golfing on 15 courses within a 45-minute driving radius.

The Village of Radium Hot Springs is a leisurely 3-hour drive from Calgary, through awe-inspiring Kootenay National Park on the Banff-Windermere Highway (Hwy 93). Along the way, travelers encounter the Continental Divide, where one can stand in two provinces at once, roadside attractions such as Dolly Varden Day Use Area and the Kootenay Valley Viewpoint, Redwall Fault, and the world famous Radium Hot Springs Mineral Pools in a peaceful setting surrounded by natural rock walls. From the pools, Highway 93 continues for 2 more miles through the impressive, sheer red rock cliffs of Sinclair Canyon to the Village of Radium Hot Springs, where "The Mountains Shall Bring Peace to the People", entering the magnificent Windermere Valley of the Columbia River. The mighty Columbia flows past the edge of the community and is bordered by the largest continuous wetlands in North America. In May of each year, bird watchers from around the world enjoy the “Wings over the Rockies” bird festival. In November, the Village hosts the Headbanger Festival, an educational celebration of the plentiful resident Bighorn Sheep. 

This small, visitor-friendly community is busy with activities, special events and attractions. Whether it be championship golf courses, water sports on Lake Windermere, whitewater rafting, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, trail riding, mini-golf, shopping or just relaxing in one of the many fine restaurants, visitors find everything they need to enjoy a fabulous holiday. The Visitor Information Centre houses a wonderful local wildlife exhibit, geographical and First Nations cultural interpretive displays.

The Village of Radium Hot Springs is only a short drive from Panorama, Fairmont and Kicking Horse Ski Resorts, and several very popular cross-country ski trails are featured in the Columbia Valley. The surrounding mountains also boast some of the finest snowmobiling in the Rockies, with miles of groomed trails and many picturesque backcountry areas.
